Treasure Island Sailing Center

Location: San Francisco, United States

Treasure Island Sailing Center is a nonprofit community sailing center on Clipper Cove, the sheltered anchorage between Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island in San Francisco Bay. Founded in 1999, its first youth outreach class had ten students from the Life Learning Academy charter school on the island; within a few years programs served over 230 kids, most on full scholarships. Its Set Sail Learn program has brought San Francisco Unified School District fourth graders out for hands-on STEM education on the water. The center paused operations in early 2025 for an expected two to three years while the Treasure Island redevelopment proceeds, and plans to return in a new permanent facility at 698 California Avenue.
