Shute Harbour Marina

Shute Harbour lies 8 kilometres east of Airlie Beach and has long served as the closest mainland departure point for the Whitsunday Islands, with ferries and charter boats working from its marine terminal. The naturally sheltered bay is now the site of the Shute Harbour Marina Resort, a staged development that plans 395 berths from 10 to 45 metres on 99-year leases, conceived as a cyclone safe haven for the region's chronically short berth market. Plans include the Pier 61 commercial precinct with marine workshops and chandlery, a resort hotel and an emergency services and sea rescue centre.
