Great Sandy Straits Marina

Great Sandy Straits Marina occupies the Urangan Boat Harbour at Hervey Bay, the main small-craft port for the Fraser Coast. The marina has 176 berths for vessels from 8 to 30 metres, with gated piers and shore amenities that include showers and a laundry. Restaurants and charter offices line the boardwalk, and whale-watching fleets work from the harbour between July and November, when humpbacks rest in the bay. The Hervey Bay Boat Club and its own marina sit within the same harbour a short walk away. Across the water lie the sheltered channels of the Great Sandy Strait and the west coast of K'gari, among Queensland's most forgiving cruising grounds.
