Tall Ships Races 2027 – Sines

Date: 29 July 2027 – 1 August 2027

Location: Sines Harbour, Sines, Portugal

Organizer: Sail Training International

Sines is the final host port of the Tall Ships Races 2027, closing a series that starts in Bordeaux and calls at A Coruna along the way. The fleet arrives on the Portuguese coast for a four-day festival from 29 July to 1 August 2027. Sines is a fitting last stop: the town is the birthplace of Vasco da Gama, and its deepwater port sits beside a small historic centre above the beach. For the mostly young crews, over half of them trainees aged 15 to 25, this is where the racing ends and prizes are handed out, with the traditional crew parade and shore games before the ships disperse. Visitors can expect open decks, evening entertainment and the rare sight of square riggers and schooners rafted together in a working port. The Tall Ships Races have run since 1956 under Sail Training International and its predecessor organizations, and Portuguese ports have hosted many editions.
