Rolex Fastnet Race 2027

Date: 24 July 2027 – 27 July 2027

Location: Royal Ocean Racing Club / Royal Yacht Squadron, Cowes, United Kingdom

Organizer: Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC)

The Rolex Fastnet Race is the Royal Ocean Racing Club's flagship offshore race and one of the classics of the sport, first sailed in 1925. The biennial course starts from the Royal Yacht Squadron line at Cowes, runs down the English Channel and across the Celtic Sea to round the Fastnet Rock off southwest Ireland, then returns past the Scillies to finish in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, France, about 695 nautical miles in all. Cherbourg is confirmed as the finish port through the 2027 edition. The 2027 race is scheduled to start on Saturday 24 July. The fleet is enormous by offshore standards, usually over 400 boats, from IMOCA 60s and Ultim trimarans to family crews in production cruisers racing under IRC, and entries sell out quickly when registration opens. The Fastnet Rock itself, a lighthouse on a lonely pinnacle, remains one of the great turning marks in sailing.
