H-boat World Championship

Date: 3 August 2026 – 9 August 2026

Location: Tjörnbro Arena, Stenungsund Sailing Club, Stenungsund, Sweden

Organizer: Stenungsund Sailing Club

The H-boat World Championship is the annual world title regatta for the H-boat, a Scandinavian three-person one-design keelboat with a loyal following across northern Europe. The class awards its worlds to a different host club each year, and the event is recognized by World Sailing and run on behalf of the International H-Boat Class Association. The 2026 edition goes to Stenungsunds Segelsällskap on Sweden's west coast, with racing in the first week of August at Tjörnbro Arena, the club's race area in the sound between Stenungsund and the island of Tjörn. It is a busy summer for the club, which also hosts the Nordic Youth Championship in late July and the huge Tjörn Runt race the following weekend. Expect a fleet drawn mainly from Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Germany, where the class is strongest, racing in sheltered archipelago water where shifts off the islands matter as much as boatspeed.
