Asia Pacific Dragon Cup 2026

Date: 17 November 2026 – 21 November 2026

Location: Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, Hong Kong, Hong Kong

Organizer: International Dragon Association / Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club

The Asia Pacific Dragon Championship is a new Grade 1 event for the International Dragon class, sailed out of Hong Kong from 17 to 21 November 2026. It is organised by the Sailing Federation of Hong Kong, China together with the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, the International Dragon Association and the Hong Kong Dragon Association. Racing takes place near the Ninepin Islands off Clear Water Bay, east of Hong Kong, an open stretch of water with around eight miles of uninterrupted sea room and dependable northeast monsoon breeze in November. Entry is capped at 70 boats. The scheduling explains the expected quality of the fleet: the championship runs back-to-back with the 2027 Dragon World Championship, hosted in Hong Kong from 21 to 29 November 2026, the city's first Dragon Worlds in 98 years. Most crews will treat the Asia Pacific event as their tune-up, which makes it a preview of the Worlds with world-class boats already rigged and on site.
