The DF95 National Championship is the top annual event in the United States for the DragonFlite 95, the 950mm one-design radio-controlled sailboat that has become one of the fastest-growing racing classes in the country. The regatta is sanctioned by the American Model Yachting Association and the 2026 championship is scheduled for 2 to 4 October in Seabrook, Texas, at the Main Street waterfront site. Radio sailing at this level is proper fleet racing: full racing rules, heats and scoring systems to handle large entries, and starts that reward the same timing and lane discipline as full-size one-design sailing. The DF95's appeal is cost and strict one-design control, which keeps the racing about skippers rather than chequebooks, and national championships regularly draw competitors from across the country. Spectating is easy since everything happens within sight of the shore. Expect three days of short, intense races decided by boat handling and wind reading.
