St George Sailing Club
Location: 2 Wellington Street, Sans Souci, NSW, Australia
St George Sailing Club was established in 1897 and is the home of 16ft skiff racing on the Georges River, at Sans Souci where the river meets Botany Bay. In the early 1960s the clubhouse moved east to make way for the Captain Cook Bridge. A $15 million redevelopment completed in 2022 replaced the old buildings with a purpose-built club featuring boatsheds, rigging decks and launching ramps, plus a waterfront restaurant and two bars. The volunteer-run, not-for-profit club receives no government funding and hosted the International Moth championships in January. Skiff sailing here remains deliberately accessible to a broad demographic.
