Edge's Boatyard
Location: Airlie Beach, QLD, Australia
Edge's Boatyard sits at 2A Loop Road in Jubilee Pocket, just behind Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays. Locally owned and operated for more than 25 years, the yard hauls vessels up to 70 feet and 35 tonnes with a 40 tonne travel lift, and a marine forklift handles catamarans with beams over 5.2 metres. Twenty hardstand sites come with power and water, and an onsite chandlery backs up the trades. Shipwrights, marine electricians, sandblasting and a painter who covers antifouling through to full resprays keep refit work in one place. Note the strong tidal gate on the approach: the yard cannot be reached at low tide, so haul-outs and relaunches are planned around high water.
