Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron Heritage Collection

Location: Kirribilli, NSW, Australia

The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron keeps one of Australia's richest club heritage collections at its clubhouse on Peel Street in Kirribilli, where the Squadron has been based since 1902. More than 2,500 trophies, paintings, half models, photographs and memorabilia trace the club's history from its founding in 1862, including material from its America's Cup campaigns and early Sydney Harbour racing. The collection is displayed through the clubhouse rather than in a formal gallery, and is managed by the Squadron's History and Archives Committee. RSYS is a private members' club, so viewing and archive access are by arrangement rather than walk-in, which makes contacting the club beforehand essential.
