Viska Regata

Date: 16 October 2026 – 18 October 2026

Location: Croatia

Organizer: JK Labud Split

The Viska regata is one of the oldest fixtures in Croatian sailing, organized by Jedrilicarski klub Labud of Split, a club with a century of history behind it. The course is simple: Split to the island of Vis and back across the open Adriatic, the route the race has followed for more than eight decades. The 2026 edition is the 82nd, expected in mid-October. The 81st race in 2025 brought more than 1,000 sailors, with the fleet packing the harbour at Vis for the overnight stop before racing home. That format is the charm of it. This is a proper offshore weekend rather than a round-the-cans series: an open-water leg, a night on the island, and a race back to Split. For Dalmatian sailors it is less an event than a habit, one that has outlasted wars, borders and several generations of boats.
