The Ocean Race 2027 – Grand Finale AMAALA

Date: 1 July 2027 – 5 July 2027

Location: AMAALA, Red Sea, AMAALA, Saudi Arabia

Organizer: The Ocean Race

The Ocean Race 2027 finishes at AMAALA, a new coastal destination on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast, the first time the round-the-world race has ended in this region. The 15th edition starts from Alicante in January 2027 and takes the fully crewed IMOCA fleet down the Atlantic, around Cape Horn, up through the Americas and back across the Atlantic to Cascais in Portugal. From there the final ocean leg runs to a finish line in the Mediterranean off Port Said, after which the fleet transits the Suez Canal together and races a short final sprint of about 135 nautical miles to AMAALA. The organizers have framed the Red Sea finish around their Rights of the Ocean campaign, and AMAALA itself is being built as a sport and wellness resort with a marine life institute. The arrival window falls in early July 2027, with the winners of the 15th edition crowned on the dock.
