Tall Ships Races 2027 – A Coruña

Date: 16 July 2027 – 19 July 2027

Location: A Coruña Harbour, A Coruña, Spain

Organizer: Sail Training International

A Coruna is the second host port of the Tall Ships Races 2027, the annual sail training series run by Sail Training International. The fleet races in from Bordeaux and stays in the Galician port from 16 to 19 July 2027, before the final leg south to Sines in Portugal. A Coruna is a veteran host of tall ships events, with a deep harbour hard against the city centre and the Tower of Hercules, a working Roman lighthouse, standing over the approaches. In port, the ships open their decks to the public, crews compete in sports and parade through the streets, and trainees swap between vessels for the next leg. The trainee element is what separates this from a boat parade: over half of those aboard are aged 15 to 25, and berths are open to newcomers regardless of experience. Expect square riggers, schooners and smaller craft packed along the quays for four days.
