RORC Baltic Sea Race

Date: 8 August 2026

Location: Gulf of Finland, Helsinki, Finland

Organizer: Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) with the Ocean Racing Alliance (ORA)

The RORC Baltic Sea Race is a 630-nautical-mile offshore race that starts and finishes off Helsinki, organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club with the Ocean Racing Alliance. The course is an anti-clockwise loop of the northern Baltic: out of the Gulf of Finland, then west and south to round the Swedish island of Gotland before heading back north to the Finnish capital. Three lighthouses are mandatory turning marks along the way, which keeps the fleet compressed and forces repeated close racing rather than one long drag to the finish. Entry is open to boats racing under IRC, MOCRA, Class40 rules and other class associations, with crews ranging from professional programmes to family teams. The third edition starts on 8 August 2026. August in the Baltic means long daylight and mostly moderate conditions, which makes this one of the more approachable 600-milers on the offshore calendar.
