Northwest Maritime Center (Port Townsend, Washington) runs the "Sailing Essentials" introductory course as a regular Friday-afternoon series (2-5 PM), confirmed for 2026 across the season (typical pattern: every other Friday May through September; e.g. Aug 14 2026 confirmed). The 3-hour hands-on course covers basic sailboat handling, points of sail, terminology, and safety, taught on the centre's 26-ft J/80 keelboat in Port Townsend Bay. $99 non-member/member, all ages welcome, two-person minimu
