The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society (AMSEAS) and the Town of Hempstead Department of Conservation & Waterways host a community beach cleanup at Point Lookout Town Park, Long Island, on Saturday 30 May 2026, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM. Volunteers (10+, free for under-18s) collect and quantify marine debris using NOAA's Clean Swell methodology while learning about AMSEAS's stranded sea turtle, dolphin and seal rescue work along the New York coast.
