Siam World Junk Cruises — Phuket / Krabi
Location: ซอยตลิ่งชัน, เทศบาลนครภูเก็ต, 83000, ประเทศไทย, Phuket, Thailand
Traditional wooden-hulled junk cruises through the limestone karst pinnacles of Phang Nga Bay and Krabi — following the sea-passage routes of South Chinese and Malay maritime traders who navigated these same channels by star and season for over 1,000 years
The karst pinnacles of Phang Nga Bay rise vertically from water too shallow for modern vessels to navigate safely. A traditional wooden junk — shallow-drafted, high-keeled — can thread through them. Siam World operates traditional-hull junk cruises through this landscape on routes that follow the passage of South Chinese and Malay maritime traders who navigated these same channels for over a thousand years. The junk is not merely a tourist vessel: it is the type-hull that connected the maritime world of Asia from Japan to Java, carrying silk, porcelain, spices and people across the entire South China Sea and beyond.
