ZV Workum
Location: Sudereleane 33, Workum, Netherlands
Zeilvereniging Workum is the sailing club of the old Frisian harbour town of Workum, based at Sud 113 close to the town centre. The club is active on the Frisian lakes and the IJsselmeer, which lies within easy reach via the Workumer channel and the It Soal beach area. Its calendar centres on racing rather than berthing: members compete in regattas across various waters and the club is involved in the IFKS skutsje circuit, the traditional Frisian flat-bottomed barge championship. Facilities are modest and include a trailer slipway for small boats. Visiting sailors seeking overnight moorings are better served by the commercial harbours at It Soal and along the Workum waterfront.
