WV Braassemermeer

Location: Noorderhem 2, Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands

Watersportvereniging Braassemermeer has run its harbour at Noorderhem in Roelofarendsveen for more than fifty years, though the club itself dates from 1918. The marina holds around 280 berths on the western shore of the Braassemermeer, a broad lake on the staande-mastroute through South Holland, so yachts with standing masts can reach it without lowering rigs. A dedicated visitor pontoon welcomes passing crews, and the clubhouse restaurant looks out across the full width of the lake. The association is a serious racing and training club as well as a berth holder, with CWO sailing courses for all ages and a record of producing Olympic sailors. Facilities include a shipyard for member maintenance.
