Shipyard Rotterdam is an independent shipbuilder in the port of Rotterdam, based at Heijplaatweg on the historic Heijplaat yard peninsula in the Waalhaven area. The company builds advanced workboats and luxury yachts and carries out refits, hull repairs and maintenance at its own quay, drawing on the shipbuilding tradition of the former RDM site around it. It is a commercial yard for construction and repair work rather than a harbour with leisure berths, so visiting yachts will find no moorings, fuel or sanitary facilities here. Owners needing structural steel or aluminium work in the Rotterdam port area are the intended customers, alongside professional operators who commission new tonnage from the yard.
