Sailaway Sailing School

Sail Away is a Brussels sailing school and cruising club that has operated since 1992. Theory courses run on weekday evenings at its base on rue Lanfray in Ixelles and cover sailing basics, marine meteorology, the ICC certificate and VHF-SRC radio licences, taught in French with some sessions in English. Practical training takes place at sea on cruising yachts, in small groups, with private coaching also available. The organisation runs an offshore racing programme alongside the school and keeps a port location in Nieuwpoort on the Belgian coast. Courses prepare candidates for the Belgian practical examinations for motor, motor plus sail and the Yachtman qualification.
