Busan Yachting Center (Suyeongman Bay)

The Suyeongman Bay Yachting Center, also known as the Busan Yachting Center, occupies the shore between Haeundae and Gwangalli beaches in Busan's Haeundae district. Built between 1983 and 1986 after approval from the Busan Port Authority, it staged the sailing events of the 1986 Asian Games and the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, where women raced their own Olympic sailing event for the first time in the 470 class. The marina has moorings for around 450 yachts and is among the largest yachting venues in Asia. The city's sports facilities office manages the site, which operates a yacht school and a windsurfing school and hosts domestic and international regattas. Plans to redevelop the aging complex into a marine culture hub have been announced.
