Borealis Sailing Centre | Centre de voile Boréalis

Location: Gatineau, Canada

Centre de voile Boréalis is a volunteer-run nonprofit sailing centre in the Aylmer sector of Gatineau, Quebec. Its keelboats are moored at the Marina d'Aylmer on Lac Deschênes, a wide stretch of the Ottawa River, where Boréalis is a member of the Club de voile Grande-Rivière that manages the marina. The fleet has two keelboats, a 25-footer with tiller steering and an outboard, and a fully equipped 28.5-footer with galley, head and diesel engine. The centre teaches Sail Canada basic cruising certification with Voile Canada certified instructors, offers a Voile à l'essai introduction for people who have never been on a keelboat, a sail-all-summer membership program, and cruising weeks further afield, for example on Georgian Bay.
