Ara Marina Marine Academy

The Ara Marina Marine Academy (아라마리나 해양아카데미) teaches sailing and marine leisure sports at Ara Marina on the Gyeongin Ara Waterway in Gochon-eup, Gimpo, west of Seoul. The public facility is operated under K-water, the state water resources corporation that manages the waterway. Its main programme is a yacht licence course of 22 hours of theory and 18 hours of practical training, open to students aged 14 and over; graduates receive the Korea Coast Guard yacht licence without a separate exam. The academy also runs dinghy sailing courses and group sessions that combine water safety education with kayaking, water bikes, motorboats and sailing yachts. It opens daily except Mondays and Tuesdays, with bookings through ara-edu.net.
