Jachthaven Muiden
Location: Herengracht 3, Muiden, Netherlands
Jachthaven Muiden occupies the east bank of the river Vecht at Herengracht 3, a stone's throw from where the river meets the Markermeer and directly beside the medieval Muiderslot castle. Operated by a foundation, it is deliberately small: 42 permanent moorings plus 25 to 30 visitor berths taken by boats of all sizes. Resident harbour masters Elly and Ronald Timmerman run the pontoons daily from 08:00 to 20:00 during the season, which lasts from 1 April to 1 November, and winter moorings are available. The harbour sells super 98 petrol and Traxx diesel, useful given the shortage of fuel points on this corner of the IJmeer. Muiden's old town lies immediately behind the quay.
