Jachthaven Lutsmond (now Lutz)

Jachthaven Lutsmond sits at Sleatemar 1A in Balk, where the tree-lined Luts canal meets the Slotermeer in southwest Friesland. Directory listings record 200 fixed berths and 100 guest berths with water, shore power, sanitary facilities, laundry, a 12-tonne crane and winter storage, and boats up to about 12 metres. The site has changed course, however. The operator now trades as Lutz, a waterfront villa resort at the same address, and Waterkaart records the harbour as no longer receiving guests. Moorings today are mainly private jetties for villa guests, who may bring boats up to 8 metres; sloop rental is offered. Passing sailors should check ahead or use the town moorings along the Luts in Balk.
