Jachthaven Fort H

Location: Herengracht 119, Muiden, Netherlands

Jachthaven Fort H lies on the Herengracht in Muiden, on the west bank of the Vecht a few hundred metres upstream of the river mouth into the IJmeer. The harbour takes its name from Fort H, one of the nineteenth-century works of the Stelling van Amsterdam defence line that guarded the Vecht crossing. It is a small mooring harbour rather than a full marina, offering permanent berths with electricity and water on the pontoons, and it partners with Santos Boats for sloop rental. From the berths it is a short walk to Muiderslot castle and the town centre, and a few minutes under way to open water on the IJmeer, with Amsterdam, Pampus and the Gooimeer all within a day sail.
