Jachthaven Bij van Assema

Jachthaven Bij van Assema lies at Penningsveer in Haarlemmerliede, on the shore of De Mooie Nel, a recreational lake on the river Spaarne just outside Haarlem. The site is part of the Spaarnwoude recreation area, with farmland and cycling routes on the doorstep. The yard combines a marina with a boat rental business: sloops and open boats can be hired without a licence. Berth holders have summer and winter storage, and visiting crews find guest moorings at about one euro per metre with shore power, showers, toilets and bicycle hire. From the lake it is a short run up the Spaarne into central Haarlem or north toward the Noordzeekanaal.
