Jachthaven Appingedam

Jachthaven Appingedam is the municipal harbour of Appingedam, a Groningen town that grew up around 1200 along the Damsterdiep. The harbour sits in the town centre with about 50 permanent berths and 15 visitor places. Boats over 15 metres with draught up to 1.90 metres can lie along the quay on the centre side. Facilities include a harbour office, a sanitary building with showers and laundry, electricity and waste disposal, and a pavilion at the water. A small shopping street with supermarket and bakery lies within 50 metres of the berths. The harbourmaster works for the Eemsdelta municipality. Appingedam's hanging kitchens above the Damsterdiep are the best-known sight in town.
