Historische Stadshaven Woudrichem
Location: Schapendam 3, Woudrichem, Netherlands
The Historische Stadshaven of Woudrichem lies inside the walls of this fortified town at the confluence of the Afgedamde Maas and the Boven Merwede, part of the Old Dutch Waterline. Run by a volunteer foundation, the harbour keeps its old fishing-port character, with traditional salmon boats and other heritage craft moored alongside visitors. There is room for around twenty passing vessels on the visitors' jetty inside the harbour, while the Maassteiger outside the entrance takes larger boats that cannot come in; daytime stays between 08:00 and 16:00 are free. The town centre, with its ramparts, museums and restaurants, begins directly at the quay.
