Het Oude Veerhuis

Location: Maasdijk 63, Ammerzoden, Netherlands

Het Oude Veerhuis is a restaurant on the Maas dike at Ammerzoden, at a spot where a ferry once crossed the river. The Roeters family has run the business since 1820, now in its sixth generation. It is not a marina; it offers a guest jetty of about 18 metres in the small adjacent harbour, free for boats whose crew reserve lunch or dinner. Skippers should call ahead on 073-5991342 to check space, since commercial traffic on the Maas can make the approach awkward. The kitchen concentrates on fish and is open Wednesday to Sunday. A terrace faces the river.
