Haven van Heemstede

Location: Havenstraat 2, Heemstede, Netherlands

The Haven van Heemstede is the municipal harbour of Heemstede, south of Haarlem, at the head of the Heemsteeds Kanaal off the Zuider Buiten Spaarne. Permanent berths are rented by the municipality to residents and demand far outstrips supply; the town has around 354 moorings in municipal water and a waiting list for permits measured in decades. Visitors can lie at the jetty near the Havenstraat, where a stay beyond three hours or past 17:00 costs 1.60 euros per metre per day between April and September, paid online. Water, electricity and showers are available. Note the fixed Kwakelbrug over the canal, with 2.10 metres clearance and no openings for pleasure craft.
