Haddock Watersport
Location: Archerpad 8, Almere, Netherlands
Haddock Watersport is a sailing school and watersport centre in Almere, founded in 1987 by Philippe van Thiel, who started with a few Optimists and three shipping containers on the Weerwater. Its former marina on that lake, once around 400 water berths plus quay places, closed after the land was sold to the municipality in 2018 for the Floriade site. The company continues as a boatyard and activity centre with winter and temporary mooring, repair services, and rental of sailing boats, canoes and SUP boards. It runs sailing and windsurfing lessons from age seven, children's camps and group events, and operates a bed and breakfast in the old centre of Almere Haven.
