Gemeentelijke Buitenhaven en Binnenhaven Workum

The municipal harbours of Workum give visiting yachts a choice between the Buitenhaven, on the channel of It Soal that runs out to the IJsselmeer, and the Binnenhaven moorings right in the centre of this handsome old Frisian trading town. Run by the municipality of Sudwest-Fryslan, the harbours are simple but well kept, with electricity at many berths and sanitary facilities ashore. From the town quays it is a short stroll to Workum's elongated market street, the Jopie Huisman museum and traditional pottery workshops, while inland the Frisian lake district opens up via the Diepe Dolte. A practical and atmospheric stop between the IJsselmeer and the lakes.
