Gemeentelijke Binnenhaven Hoorn

Location: Binnenhaven 4, Hoorn, Netherlands

The Gemeentelijke Binnenhaven is Hoorn's municipal inner harbour, entered from the Markermeer through the Grote Gat beside the lighthouse and the old harbour front. Around 100 guest berths lie along the quays, with a choice between the side against the historic centre and the quieter Baadland park side. Anchoring and public moorings are also permitted when space allows. The harbour office sits at Het Hoofd 2 and the harbourmaster listens on VHF 74. Passanten pay per metre per night, with tourist tax on top. Hoorn is a former VOC town, and its museums, terraces and shops begin directly behind the quay. Charter and cruise ships use the adjacent Buitenhaven behind the dike.
